Doug Ljungren and Judy Cheshire have partnered to promote structural quality and proven field abilities in a thoughtful breeding program. Each new generation of dogs is predicated upon successful genetic traits of the past. Both of them have been involved in the sport of purebred dogs and German Wirehaired Pointers, in particular, for 35 years. They are located in North Carolina

All their own dogs are socialized house dogs as well as personal hunting companions. Their breeding program is limited and puppies are available by reservation. Started dogs are occasionally available by persuasion.

Doug’s “Sure Shot” line has produced more than 25 Field Champions and Amateur Field Champions and multiple Master Hunter titled dogs. The line has thirteen National Championship titles to its credit. Doug has trained and handled eleven GWPs to both their Open and Amateur field titles and five of those dogs completed their Dual Championships. “Sure Shot” dogs and bitches have contributed to many of the top field lines in the country. Judy’s “Heywire” prefix is best known in the show ring. It has produced three Best in Show dogs, a GWPCA National Specialty Show winner, multiple group winners, obedience titled dogs to the Utility level and hunt test titled dogs to the Master level. Basically, a line that produces all-around versatile companions that conform to the breed standard.
